Fitting your helmet - Adjustable Dial Helmets
- Measure the circumference of your head with a tape measure from just above the ear round to approximately an inch above the eyebrow.
- Select the appropriate shell size;
ADULT DIAL HELMETS
JTE Explorer = S(52-55), M(56-58), L(59-61)
JTE Equilite = S(52-55), M(56-58), L(59-61)
JUNIOR DIAL HELMETS
Jnr JTE = S(52-54), M(55-57), L(58-59), XL(60-61)
JTE Switch = S(52-54), M(55-57), L(58-59), XL(60-61) - Release the dial at the rear of helmet, so that the helmet is at its biggest size.
- Put the helmet on. Tighten the dial so the helmet fits snugly.
- Check your helmet fits equally around the head. Feel with the tip of your finger for any gaps, front back and side. Tighten the dial if necessary.
- Lift the helmet off your head slowly to see if the skin on the
forehead and eyebrows lift with the helmet.
Repeat a couple of times. - Check movement front to back and side to side, there should be minimum movement.
- If the helmet is too tight you could try the next shell size up or down if the helmet is too loose.
- Foam tape can be used in these helmets to increase comfort & fill gaps, but cannot be hidden inside the helmet so care needs to be taken.
- Once fitted the dial should not be tampered with.
Please note: Abuse of the dial can lead to it malfunctioning so care needs to be taken. The hat is not suitable for use on more than one person.
Helmet fitting tips
- Check the helmet fits equally around the head
- Check movement front to back and side to side. There should be minimum movement.
- Turn the dial left and right to find the perfect fit.
- Lift the helmet off slowly to see if the skin on the forehead and eyebrows lift with the helmet.
